I am a lover of music and most of the trance/ techno music I have heard in the past has yet to please my ears as much as this Paul Nicholls Piece. When listening to this piece my mind wandered and it put me in a place of serenity. I imagined hearing this song in a lounge of some sort surrounded by friends, family, and good food. While I wouldn’t play this song in my car I would definitely listen to this song while sipping on vintage wine in my living room.
Once you get past the two minute video introduction the Who I am video is pretty catchy. Although the beginning of this video was long there was a message in it that all men should be teaching their sons. Real men know how to treat a lady.
The vocals on the video are a little scratchy but the video quality is impeccable. With all of the rappers out there claiming putting women down this song brings me back to those days of Once More Chance by Notorious B.I.G. when females were idolized in music instead of sexualized. This is definitely a song that i would bump in my whip.
Dreaming, it is what we do when we are asleep. Dreams make it possible for the impossible. When we are children we dream of what we could be when we grow up. Most of us dream of bring rich and famous. I, on the other hand, dreamed of working with the rich and famous.
I went through over five years of post secondary education and there is one lesson that I learned in English class that I will never forget. The teacher asked everyone who here likes rap music? The majority of the class raised their hands. She then went on to ask, who here knows what rap stands for? People started guessing and she abruptly interrupted them by saying, rhythmic American poetry. She then went on to say so many of you listen to the music but none of you know what the acronym stands for. She also went on to say that Eminem has a degree in English.
Now here I am thinking, what?! Eminem who raps about murder and drugs has a degree? I have seen the movie Eight Mile. Not once did it depict the man going to school. It was all about sex, drugs, rapping and violence. My next thought wasn’t about music, it was about my dreams and aspirations.
Before this moment I totally forgot about my dream career. That is probably because I got distracted about a hundred times with dreams of being rich. Life takes you down so many roads and for most people your dreams change with the economy. I am definitely like most people.
There was a short period of time i’d say from 1999-2001 where boy/girl bands were popping up on the radio and television. For a thirteen year old girl starting your own band and creating cool songs that everyone knew the words to was the dream worth living. I didn’t want to sing or dance, although I would have to admit I can sing like a canary. I only wanted to write music. I wanted to write the lyrics that everyone was singing in their head. I wanted to pour my heart into something that would be a legacy even for just one moment. That dream disappeared when my social life became more important than my writing career.
After I suffered through grade 11 math, chemistry, and biology I decided to take history and English classes. My dreams of writing came back when I took a creative writing class in grade 12. I was able to spew out short stories and poems in minimal amounts of time. I wanted to make a lot of money in my career and law was my way out. I wanted to be a judge since I was in kindergarten. I realized that lawyers eventually become judges and there was no way around that. I sat thinking about taking politics, I couldn’t suffer through politics it would have driven me mad. I then decided to apply to the English program, I figured that lawyers need to know how to write to draft documents. And there it was again, my dream of writing got lost in contract law.
It was in college/university that rap music went on a decline. In the 90’s rap music was about the movement. Rap music was a way that an ordinary human being can tell their stories of trials and tribulations through rhythmic speech. NWA, NAS, the Fugees, Wu Tang, Onyx, A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs in Harmony, Mo Thugs, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, 112, Ruff Ryders, and more rappers began to retire and artists like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Birdman, T.I., T-Pain and more began emerging. The majority of new rappers didn’t have to rap about anything that made sense and with the emergence of auto-tune they didn’t even need to know how to sing.
My dreams of writing music died when auto tune took over rap music. I have to give some artists the benefit of the doubt, some of them are lyrically blessed. I have resorted from listening to Wu Tang and Onyx to Chris Brown and Rihanna because their music has some meaning. I decided after being with child that if I was going to make money writing it would be with Technical Writing. I love to research and write and pour myself into a document. I have found a way to make a profit off of something I love to do although it wasn’t my first choice, it will be my last career choice.
Apple announced the release of the IPhone 6s and the IPhone 6s plus on September 9, 2015, proclaiming this version of IPhone is the most innovative model yet. The iPhone 6S runs on a 64-bit processor called Apple’s A9. Which is 70 percent faster at CPU tasks and 90 faster at GPU tasks over the iPhone 6’s A8 processor. According to Apple the Wi-Fi and LTE should be twice as fast in the new models. Apple kept the same design and 4.7-inch display size as the iPhone 6. The new models are made with Apple’s custom aluminum alloy. The screen is made with Ion-X glass. The Ion-X glass is also used in the Apple Watch Sport. The new phones also come in a new trendy rose gold color.
One of the most innovative features of the IPhone 6s and 6s plus is a pressure-sensitive display. For those of you that are worried about breaking the display screen on the IPhone, Apple’s Taptic Engine is built into the phone to provide feedback on how deeply you are touching the screen. The pressure sensitive display is pertinent to what apple calls 3D Touch interaction labeled “peek” and “pop.” Peek allows you to press on app icons to use specific features. One of the new peek features is the selfie feature, where users can enable selfies by touching the camera icon. Another peek feature allows users to update a status, check in, or start a search by pressing on the Facebook Application. Pop allows users a quick glance at photos and videos.
Since 2011 on the IPhone 4s, this is the first time Apple changed the pixels in their cameras. The rear camera has 12-megapixels, is capable of recording 4K video, and has an improved autofocus. The front facing camera is now a 5-megapixel camera. The front facing camera has a screen enabled flash. When prompted to flash the phone’s display lights up to three times brighter than it usually would to match the ambient lighting of the environment. Another camera enabled feature that Apple is introducing is called “live photos.” This is a default feature that captures a short clip of video alongside every photo taken.
The new iPhone will be available in the U.S. for a 16GB phone starting at $199 on a two-year contract. This phone is also available in 64GB and 128GB for $100 more per tier. Apple is offering payment plans the 6S will be available for $27 per month and for additional $32 per month, you can lease an iPhone and exchange it for a newer version each year this also includes the AppleCare+ warranty. Preorders begin September 12th, with sales beginning September 25th.
The apple Iphone5 is a handy tool some of its main features include:

Airdrop file sharing
Siri natural language commands and dictation
iCloud cloud service
TV-out
Maps
Audio/video player/editor
Organizer

This being said there is also a great camera function on the phone, it includes a front and rear facing camera for FaceTime capabilities. There is a flash function that also works as a flashlight that can be easily found in the pull up bar on the main screen. The camera features a 1/3.2” sensor size, 1.4 µm pixel size, simultaneous HD video and image recording, touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, and HDR photo.
I use my Iphone5 on a daily basis for all of my technological needs. Some of the uses I need my IPhone for are:
I use it as a phone to make phone calls
I use it for text message and picture message capabilities
I use it for video chat
The Alarm to wake me up
The Calendar to keep track of important dates and appointments
I use it as an installation tool for installing Wi-Fi products such as wireless extenders and my Wi-Fi baby monitor
I use this device to play games and use various applications for entertainment
My IPhone is a necessity to me, when the phone dies it devastates me because my main source of informational technology is dead. I really like this phone because it is user friendly and it isn’t very big like other phones in its comparison. This phone is handy when installing different Wi-Fi devices because it automatically finds the device and enables the installation of the software through the LAN local settings. I wouldn’t trade my iPhone for another device I absolutely adore the usability of this product.
My 2004 Toyota Echo hatchback vehicle isn’t much to look at when you first see it. Although, my husband thinks it looks like a baseball cap, this car has benefitted us in many ways. When the seats are folded down in the back this car is very useful, we have transported very large items including a snow blower in this vehicle.
The vehicle has a 1.5 L Inline 4-cylinder engine which is durable and easy to fix because all of the parts are at arm’s length. Engines that are 1.5 liters aren’t very fast, they have 108 horsepower at 6000 rpm. This car averages 60 km per gallon of gas, that being said a tank of gas for this car lasts us approximately two weeks. I have the five speed manual version of this car and it is very easy to drive, although it isn’t luxurious it is practical.
I use this car for winter driving mostly because the car isn’t very fancy and can take the cold harsh winters we have here in Ottawa. This car has a four star safety rating according to cars.com which enables me to feel safe driving my four month old daughter around in this vehicle. Toyota’s safety ratings for all of their cars went down in the recent years because of their airbag/ break issues in the corolla models.
The down side to my particular model of vehicle is that, it is a base model. Base model cars don’t have any luxuries. Therefore, some of the features that I cannot enjoy in this car that I can in my other car are:
Automatic windows, in the cold I have to manually wind down my window.
No leather interior.
No heated seats.
There is no sunroof
There is a stock base model cd player
No navigation
No auxiliary port to attach devices to the stereo
This car is very small and does not have any rear speakers which is an advantage and also a disadvantage at the same time. The advantage of this is that I can play music louder and it won’t affect my little girl’s ears. The disadvantage is that any adults in the back seat won’t be able to listen to music as loudly as they would like.
This is a very reliable, safe vehicle that is great on gas. With this economy a car like this is priceless. I enjoy driving this vehicle, it shifts very smoothly and is easy to manage in a parking lot. Next time you need to buy a winter vehicle, consider an echo it is a great investment.
Colic can be a nightmare for some parents, this is why Handi Craft invented their patented designed Dr. Brown’s baby bottles. These bottles have a vent and a straw that prevents the creation of air bubbles. The potential air is vented through the hole in the side of the vent, and pushed through the straw away from the baby’s mouth. This vent also prevents the nipple of the bottle from suctioning together which, gives the liquid a constant natural flow, as if the baby were being breastfed.
I first heard of this product when my cousin had her child, about a year before my baby was born. I was actually told by another cousin, to let her know that if she is experiencing colic with her baby to try Dr. Brown’s baby bottles. Both of my cousins work in the medical field, and I therefore kept the Dr. Browns name in the back of my head for future reference.
I didn’t really do any research on bottles before buying the full set of Dr. Brown’s bottles, I just went with the word of mouth suggestion. These bottles are quite expensive (approximately ten dollars for an eight ounce bottle) so I decided to wait until they went on sale to purchase a set. The purchased set included; four, four ounce bottles, two, eight ounce bottles, one, two ounce bottle, a bottle warmer, soother holder and two orthodontic soother’s for $70 taxes included.
When my little Dionne was born, I opened the box and prepared the bottles for formula. I received a few other sets of bottles at my baby shower, I opened those as well. I didn’t quite realize how well the bottle worked, until, I ran out of bottles one day and decided to use a Tommy Tipee bottle. I saw that some of my other cousins used this type of bottle and I didn’t think anything of giving it to my daughter. The experience was awful, the nipple of the bottle kept suctioning together and I would have to pull the bottle out of Dionne’s mouth to enable her to keep the liquid flowing. Then, there would be bubbles that formed in the bottle which, led to tummy aches for my little one.
Now that Dionne is older she is able to hold her bottle and the Dr. Brown’s bottles are the perfect size for her little hands. They are easy to fit in the sides of a baby bag, unlike some of the other bottles and they come with a cap you can screw on the top to prevent leaks when traveling. Alongside being a great product, this bottle also helps in retaining vitamins A, D and E. The tiny bubbles created when the nipple of the bottle suctions together, oxidize those nutrients and prevents the baby from gaining the full potential of the vitamins in breast milk and or formula.
As you can see these bottles are a bit awkward shaped and therefore needed to be sterilized in a special Dr. Brown’s microwave sterilizer. This unit costs approximately $20-$40 depending on whether it is on sale, bought from a retail store or from the internet.
The bottles come apart into 7 pieces including the lid and the leak proof seal. This make cleaning time a little less fun. The bottles come with their own cleaner which, looks like a pipe cleaner for the straw inside as well as the tip of the air guard.
On the side of the bottle is guide lines on where to fill the bottles, at the top of these lines is a leak guard line. If you fill the bottle past that line the contents may spill out. This has definitely happened to me a few times. Being a tired new mom and a full time student, doesn’t help when you are half asleep filling up a bottle.
Although you have to purchase the sterilizer for this bottle separately, they are little hard to clean, costly and leaky when not filled properly or when the leak proof cap isn’t used, I would recommend this bottle to any new mom, it has definitely been a life saver for us.
A style sheet is a document that an author can create to give to an editor so there are no misconceptions of the style an author would like their document to have. Design changes, fonts, types of bulleting, numbering and other style preferences are usually documented in a style sheet. A document should not list every editorial change made in the document because it isn’t a transcript of the document it is more like a guideline on stylistic changes the author would like to have in their document. To be consistent in your work and to the works of your peers, you might want to record choices that are already covered in a published style manual.
Guidelines for Editing for Style
The purpose of editing style is to increase overall document effectiveness. The guidelines for editing style are as follows:
Situation Make style serve readers and purpose; consider the possibility of an international audience; examine the text for discrimination.
Sentence structures Use structure to reinforce meaning.
Verbs Convey the action in the sentence accurately and forcefully.
Nouns, adjectives Choose words that are accurate, concrete, and understandable
Make style serve purpose and readers
Editing text must suit the audience as well as its purpose so there should be variation in style depending on the situation.
If you are editing a journal article that will be read overseas you would have to make sure that the language is appropriate. You would have to check over the document and make sure that everything is defined correctly because what is common knowledge here may not be common knowledge there.
If you are editing a proposal you must first think of your audience and edit the paper appropriately. In most of these cases your approach will be formal as it is a proposal. Therefore you would have to make sure the wording is formal as well as the stylistic appearance.
